Alejandro et Sabina sont 2 instructeurs de surf incroyables. Alejandro a créé une série de cours particuliers pour enfants à un prix concurrentiel à hauteur de 3 heures par jour sur 1 semaine. Mon fils en est à sa troisième session d’1 semaine et ces progrès sont spectaculaires.
Totalement novice dans la discipline, aujourd’hui il a pris sa première vraie vague et accède au niveau 6 après 15 jours d’apprentissage. Nous sommes fiers de lui et sommes ravis du professionnalisme, de l’attentisme et de l’implication de l’équipe de Wave surf instruction. Nous les recommandons chaleureusement. We had such a good time learning with Alejandro and Sabine. It was my first time and the second time for my boyfriend, but we managed to stand up right from the start thanks to Sabine and Alejandro 1 on 1 teaching method.
Sabine took the time to explain every step before going into the water. Both held our boards and helped us catch the waves by giving us tips until we were able to recognise when a good wave was coming.
Thanks to Sabine, I gained confidence on the board from the start and I conquered my fear of the ocean. She is one of these people that are in sync with nature and that have a natural calming energy. I really connected with her.
On top of the great teaching, we enjoyed meeting them both! This experience was definitely a highlight of our trip in Costa Rica.
We can’t wait to plan my next surfing trip now and hope to come back to Domical soon 🤙 🌺🌊🏄🏻♀️

Best surf lessons I ever had! I have been taking lessons periodically (all different parts of the world) while learning to surf…and Ale is by far one of the best instructors! He knows how to layer on the right skills you need and helps you progress with confidence and safety in mind too (which is so important especially when many people are out surfing).
I finally feel I am building the right foundations to truly progress from being a beginner to someone who understands the “science” of the waves and knows how to navigate tough waters.
Moreover, he loves what he does and to see you succeed… he’s an incredible coach!
Consider yourself lucky if you can get to learn with Ale… you’ll see the difference in how he approaches teaching and subsequently your progress!
Amazing instructors! My two children 5 & 8 had an amazing time, both kids where standing on the board by the end of the lesson. They were given 1 on 1 instruction in and out of the water. Both instructions are lifeguards. I felt confident in the safety and quality of instructions. My kids had a blast and have been asking to go back. Will definitely book again.
These guys are super fun too surf and work with! Very professional and went above and beyond expectations! I would highly recommend getting instructions with Alijandro and his crew.
If you’re in Domincal and want to surf, just book with Wave Instruction! It felt serendipitous to walk by their sign next to our Airbnb and learn about them. Alejandro considers surfing a healing tool and his approach to teaching is empowering, gentle, and beautiful. He has a calmness that captures you and brings your focus to being present so you can enjoy the beauty of surfing despite how challenging it can be. My kids and I loved our lesson and they might just be hooked on surfing now. You won’t find them on the main road in Domincal but contact him on WhatsApp. The 1:1 lesson might be one of most meaningful experiences you do in your life. You’ll feel you got way more than a surf lesson after.

I can't say enough good things about Alejandro and Wave Surf School. I feel so lucky to have met him! Originally, my husband was planning on only renting a surfboard (which he does as well), but I felt I needed a basic surf refresher so I could get out there too. So glad I did! He was very thorough in his instruction and made sure I understood the water, the waves and the safest way to get to the break and go under and over the surf (my biggest issue with a big board). His instruction was clear and I got right up! He's also a lifeguard, and his comfort level in the ocean and with students is exceptional. I felt very safe with him. After my lesson was complete, he even went into the water to give my husband and son some tips.
Our experience with Alejandro didn't stop there. He is a genuinely kind person who obviously loves what he does. He gave us great restaurant and experience recommendations and answered any and all questions we had about surfing, the ocean and the surrounding area. I truly feel I now have a new friend and contact in Costa Rica. We will be back... very soon!! I 100% recommend Wave surf school and Playa Dominicalito for new surfers. You won't be disappointed. My friend and I had an unforgettable time with Alejandro as our surf instructor at playa Dominicalito. He proved to be the best surf coach we ever had. His expertise and motivation were unparalleled as he guided us to the best waves and provided always advice for improvement. We booked four 2h long session with him, more than we initially planned because we just could not get enough of the great surf experience. We highly recommend Ale as surf coach!
